Hi, my name is Anita Ashland and I’m a freelance writer in Wisconsin. I write for businesses who need copy for their websites and e-newsletters. My website about that is here. I use storytelling in much of the copy that I write. But enough about that.

For some time I’ve wanted to create a website where I write for pure fun and from the heart. The subtitle of my blog is currently “Live in fragments no more. Only connect” which comes from E. M. Forster’s novel Howard’s End. So if there’s a theme to this blog, it’s that. The more middle-aged I become, the more I find myself having to get over certainty, and the more interested I am in putting the fragments of my life together into more of a coherent whole rather than carefully editing my image. That’s why I’m drawn to authors such as Jungian psychologist James Hollis, novelist Susan Howatch and the book Kitchen Table Wisdom by Rachel Naomi Remen.
